Tour to the Little Karoo and Route 62

Our tour takes you to the longest wine route in the world. The Route starting from Robertson and the Langeberg range provides the stage setting for Montagu, the Western gateway to the Little Karoo- Barrydale and on to Ladismith all the way to the Gouritz River and the Outeniqua Mountains.

We stop over at the Port capital, Calitzdorp and on to the spa and Gamkaberg Nature reserve which was proclaimed as such to conserve the Mountain Zebra. The reserve has four vegetation types viz. fynbos, arid fynbos, succulent karoo and riverine vegetation. Many interesting plants occur including the golden Mimetes.

Join us on an overnight tour and enjoy the wonderful Tierkloof tented camp

Enjoy a number of mammals including Eland, Grysbok, Leopard, Honey Badger, amongst others while listening to the barking of the Chacma Baboon troop that lives in the area. The birdlife is prolific together with the insects and reptiles.

We then travel to the Cango caves and on to Knysna to visit the Featherbed Reserve and then to George where we see an 800 year old Yellowwood tree before returning to Cape Town. We stop over at the closest remnant of Afromontane forest to Cape Town with its wonderful display of Ericas amongst the Fynbos and then on to the third-oldest historical town in the country, Swellendam.
