The Garden Route

Join us on a tour to the diverse area of a combination of mountains, valleys, coasts, lakes and rivers making it uniquely lovely and coining the phrase of 'the garden route' approximately 50 years ago.

The contrast between the dense indigenous forests that cover most of the lower slopes of the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains, and the sparse succulent vegetation of the arid Little Karoo, not far away, could hardly be more extreme. The birds which live in the fynbos on the Swartberg are quite distinct from the water fowl which inhabit the Wilderness lakes.

Walking is the best (and in some cases the only) way of experiencing and enjoying the beauty and variety of these areas.

Join us on a number of different options of overnight tours to this area.

One of our magical walks takes the visitor to the Stinkhoutkloof Forest trail in the Tsitsikamma, a trip to the World Heritage site of Featherbed Nature Reserve and on to Grootvadersbos Nature Reserve in Heidelberg before returning to Cape Town
